Harbour and history

Naantali’s old town grew around a Bridgettine convent, with the waterfront forming part of its connections from an early stage. A medieval street pattern and later wooden buildings record the life that developed close to the harbour.

Culture and local stories

The old town’s lanes and waterfront buildings preserve layers from different centuries. The silhouette of the convent church links the landscape with the town’s beginnings. Religious history, the wooden town and maritime travel therefore form connected parts of Naantali’s cultural story.
