Nauvo – port calls

Harbour and history

The harbour setting of Nauvo’s church village developed beside the routes of the Archipelago Sea. The relationship between village and waterfront recalls a community where church, trade and shared affairs were often reached by boat. The harbour belongs to a longer history of settlement and movement across the sea.

Culture and local stories

The medieval stone church of Nauvo anchors this cultural landscape. Its old paintings and building phases preserve the parish’s past. The proximity of church village and harbour shows how maritime transport and community culture developed together.
