Harbour and history

The port location of Ristiina belongs to the lake landscape of Saimaa. The Brahelinna estate and Per Brahe’s 17th-century holdings illuminate the region’s historical background.

The many lives of Brahelinna

The estate developed from Per Brahe’s administrative centre and has served many purposes. Its main building, completed in 1739, housed G. M. Sprengtporten’s military school in the late 1770s. The lakeside region also has stories of administration and education.
